Hayes, Smith reschedule telephone town hall to April 6 due to floor action on state budget proposal

A 10th District telephone town hall planned this evening (Thursday, March 30) by Reps. Dave Hayes and Norma Smith has been cancelled due to House consideration of a state operating budget proposal, and rescheduled to next Thursday, April 6.

“We had scheduled our telephone town hall nearly a month ago and were ready to take calls. However, we learned just hours before the event that House leadership decided to bring out the Democrat-proposed operating budget on the floor for debate and a vote. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we felt it important to be on the House floor representing our constituents in this very important vote,” said Hayes, R-Camano Island.

“Representative Hayes and I know how important it is to connect to citizens as we enter these final weeks of the legislative session. So we've rescheduled our telephone town hall and hope we hear from people throughout the district about the issues most important to them,” added Smith, R-Clinton.

The 10th District telephone town hall has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 6, from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. The phone number to call is still the same: (425) 616-0578 beginning at 6 p.m., April 6. Once connected, callers can listen in and press * (star) on their telephone keypad to ask questions.

Citizens may also submit their questions online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Hayes-TTH-questions-033017 prior to the event.

Residents unable to participate are encouraged to contact the legislators directly using the following information:
